Lights and Camera Movements
High-key lighting is used a lot in cop dramas, because even when dark and intense scenes are part of the main plot, there will be some positive scenes and the lighting that is high-key will help to show that. The different camera angles will show that high-key lighting suits what is in the scene, for example mid-shots and any shots that have no movement, but completely still. As, when the camera has some sort of movement, it shows that it could be intense or show hints of suspense.
Slow moving camera movement will also be used in high-key lighting as the tone is relaxed and calm. Also, this tells us that the main character is the main subject rather then the sound.

High-key lighting
Low-key lighting
Low-key lighting is seen a lot in Cop dramas. The main intention is to create a dark and intense atmosphere, in order to fit in with the theme of the TV show which is how people's lives change so much within a blink.
This can be done by making everything around the actor black (dark) and use a softbox to shine onto the actor so that it creates a dark and spooky effect to the scene. Another thing that adds onto this scary and dark atmosphere is how a shadow could be seen behind the person depending on how strong the softbox lighting is, which can help relate to the darkness of this show, also giving an 'overexposed' tone and feel.
Costume design and Sample clothing
Actor headshot
Mark's clothes are old fashioned and fairly odd looking. He wears the same jacket everyday at work as he doesn't have many other clothes. But he likes to keep everything else to himself. He likes to keep his uniform clean, as he feels as its of importance. His favourite colour is black, so when he isn't at work he likes to wear black scruffy trousers and a black top, as it makes him feel safe and comfy. His shoes are old fashioned, and keeps them clean alongside his uniform. However, he has two other pairs of the same set of shoes, just incase they get dirty and cannot be cleaned.
Actor Headshot
Sergio wears casual clothes as he is the most rebellious and confident, therefore his clothing doesn't match anyone else's as they are all formal or in uniform, whereas Sergio likes to think that he stands out.
Costume
The costume will be the same for the main characters as they all work in the same police department.
